Listen

Our first step is meeting with you and learning about your vision for your space.

This initial design consultation is where we define the scope, discuss budget, review project milestones, and consider potential collaborators. Before we meet, it's helpful if you outline the goals for your home or business and gather images that reflect elements you'd like to incorporate. Platforms like Houzz and Pinterest are great tools for inspiration. If you already have floor plans, please share them with us so we can get a head start.

Once we have a clear understanding of your project, we prepare a Proposal that outlines your goals and the services we'll provide to bring them to life.

Gather

During this phase, we gather all the information we will need for your project.

This may include reviewing existing architectural drawings, visiting the site, considering your family dynamics, company culture, or customer needs, analyzing adjacencies, and assessing relevant local code and bylaw requirements.

Conceptualize

Here we translate the project brief into visuals and a finish concept that set the direction for your space.

This is your first opportunity to see, feel, and experience what we're developing for you. Your honest feedback is essential. We'll review each element together and then refine the design so your space truly reflects your vision and values.

Plan

Now we can fully develop your interior. We align spatial requirements and finalize the layout.

We source all of the items that will define your space: finishes, furniture, lighting, plumbing fixtures, and hardware. We develop custom millwork: kitchens, bathrooms, custom media walls and bespoke furniture. Then, we present it all to you in an amount and manner you can digest.

Document

Once the design details are approved, we prepare it all for pricing and construction, working closely with collaborators to ensure every element is well considered.

We use our technical expertise to document and specify each item clearly, so the full scope can be accurately budgeted and every professional involved in construction has the information they need in an organized, accessible format.

Collaborate

We work with a wide range of professionals to ensure the best results for our clients.

Collaborators may include building or landscape architects, mechanical, electrical, or structural engineers, media consultants, and artists — just to name a few.

If you're unsure whether you need to engage a specialist, we'll help you determine the right team for your project.

Implement

During construction, we visit site regularly to ensure your project is built with the level of attention to detail you expect.

We schedule site visits with your Contractor to review progress prior to inspections so that any discrepancies are addressed before they are difficult to amend. We work with, not over or under, the other professionals on your project and truly believe that the best outcome comes from our collective team effort.

Review

After all our work is done and you've settled into your new space, we look forward to checking in with you.

We want to hear about your favorite elements and the features that have most enhanced your family life or work environment. Staying connected with our clients and experiencing how the spaces we've created support daily living and working continues to inspire our practice.

Layer

Sometimes, after you've settled into your new space, you may discover pieces you'd like to add to your interior.

Whether it's furniture, styling, window coverings, lighting, or art, we encourage layering. Sometimes it takes time to know what's right for you. By adding to your space slowly and thoughtfully, you ensure that each element serves a purpose to complete the space. We're here to help at any stage along the way.
